NIH Public Access Policy
The NIH Public Access Policy ensures that the public has access to the published results of NIH funded research. It requires scientists to submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to the digital archive PubMed Central upon acceptance for publication. To help advance science and improve human health, the Policy requires that these papers are accessible to the public on PubMed Central no later than 12 months after publication.
Please visit the NIH Public Access Policy website for instructions on how to submit publications to PubMed Central and comply with this policy.
Acknowledging NCRR-NIH Support (download the Maine INBRE logo here)
The National Center for Research Resources asks us to acknowledge their Center and INBRE in publications and presentations that result from INBRE supported research, including work done by INBRE funded students.
Those who use INBRE funded research cores and resources (e.g., special pieces of equipment), or whose research team includes INBRE funded personnel, are also expected to acknowledge NCRR and INBRE in publications, even if their research is funded by other mechanisms.
Please use the following format to acknowledge NCRR and INBRE support:
"This publication was made possible by NIH Grant Number P20 RR-016463 from the INBRE Program of the National Center for Research Resources,"
- or -
"The project described was supported by NIH Grant Number P20 RR-016463 from the INBRE Program of the National Center for Research Resources."
You should also use, as appropriate, "Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of NIH."
(From the Division of Research Infrastructure Program Guidelines, p. 147).
